The Internet Association of Ukraine called the blocking of Russian sites the actions to create political censorship in the country. This is said in the Association's statement published on the official website.

The statement points out that the only direction of the Internet censorship mechanism effectiveness is to limit the circle of information dissemination among users, that is, influence on broad public opinion and electoral preferences of the population by narrowing the range of "unwanted information."

"We are inclined to conclude that the true goals of introducing Internet censorship in Ukraine are purely the creation of political censorship," the statement said.

"InAU wants to see Ukraine in the area of network technologies development alongside countries such as the United States, Japan, Germany, and not alongside Russia, Iran, and North Korea. InAU opposes the introduction of a technical mechanism for Internet censorship, " the prdanisation press service said.

We recall, on May 16, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on April 28, 2017, which provides, inter alia, the ban of Yandex search, VKontakte and Odnoklassniki social networks.
