Law enforcers found a passport of Mikheil Saakashvili, the leader of the Movement of New Forces, during today’s searches in the apartment of his ally Severion Dangadze, who mediated in the negotiations of Saakashvili and Serhiy Kurchenko. General Prosecutor Yuriy Lutsenko reported that during his briefing, broadcasted by the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“A lot of materials, necessary for the investigation, including the unblessed passport of Ukrainian citizen Saakashvili, which according to him was confiscated and stored at the Minister of Internal Affairs or at the President, were found during the searches in the apartments where Severion Dangadze lived in Kyiv. Practically, it was there, in Dangadze’s flat, all the time,” he noted.
As we reported earlier, Saakashvili stated that Ukrainian law enforcers took his passport away during the search in the bus, when he was crossing Polish-Ukrainian border. Police denied this statement. Later Saakashvili stated that his passport was in the cabinet of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
As we reported earlier, on December 5, an opposition politician Mikheil Saakashvili was detained after the country's General Prosecutor’s Office together with the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches in his house.
Saakashvili himself got on the roof of the building threatening to jump down. A crowd of law-enforcers, journalists and Saakashvili's allies gathered near the house at Kostyolna street in the very downtown of Kyiv.
