The former Head of Odessa City Administration Mikheil Saakashvili who was revoked of the Ukrainian citizenship can enter Ukraine only with visa. The Deputy of the General Prosecutor of Ukraine Evgen Enin reported this at Facebook.
'The entry of Saakashvili (now he is a person without any citizenship, we wait for confirmation about the presence of the passport of other countries) to Ukraine is possible only after the execution of visa. Any performances with the activists or illegal crossing of the border will be the 100% legal ground for bringing him to administrative responsibility and persons who will help him will be liable to prosecution (and do not tell that I did not warn you)', Enin wrote.
According to him, the personal attendance of Saakashvili at the court session cannot be the reason for contestation for the fair trial. The right to entry the foreign country is not the right granted by the Convention and a plaintiff can defend the interests with the help of the defense attorney', he added.
As it was reported earlier, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the decree stripping Saakasvhili off the Ukrainian citizenship. Anton Herashchenko, the Counselor to Interior Minister of Ukraine said that the government learned certain previously unknown facts from Georgia’s Prosecutor General’s Office; as of the time when Saakashvili was granted Ukrainian citizenship, Ukrainian authorities were unaware of that information.
