Ryanair airline has canceled all flights from three European countries that should take place on July 25, 26 as Avianews.com reported citing the representatives of the company.
It is reported that the strike of the stewards became the reason for the cancelation. It will affect 50, 000 passengers who should fly out by the canceled flights.
It is specified that the strike will affect 24% of the flights to and from Spain, 27% Portuguese flights and 31% of the Belgian flights.
The passengers who bought tickets for the canceled flights received the text messages and e-mails in which the company offered to postpone the flight for seven days for free or to give the money back.
The stewards demand the increase in the salaries and improvement of the working conditions. At the same time, Ryanair noted that the salary of the steward reaches 40,000 euro per year and they have 14 weekends per month and sick pay.
“These strikes are entirely unjustified and will achieve nothing other than to disrupt family holidays and benefit competitor airlines in Belgium, Portugal and Spain,” the company noted.
Earlier the pilots of the company also announced the strike claiming to be unsatisfied with the conditions of the base’s distribution, paying of the bonuses and provision of the holidays.
As we reported Irish low-cost air carrier Ryanair is now negotiating with five Ukrainian airports about new flights. It considers the opportunity to start the flights in new directions in Ukraine next year.
