Russian national wanted for terrorism got apprehended in Ukraine

A Russian citizen wanted by Interpol for terrorism was apprehended in Cherkasy, central Ukraine. He's been hiding in this country since 2019, Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) press office reported.

"The SBU denounced a foreign citizen wanted by the Interpol. He is on the international wanted list for committing crimes of terrorist nature. The culprit was apprehended during the special operation that took place within the campaign to combat the international terrorism", reads the message.

The special service found out that the man has tried to flee justice in Ukraine since 2019.

Currently, the man has been kept in the Cherkasy detention center. He will be staying there until respective police authorities in the country that initiated the search asks Ukraine to hand him over.
