The Health Ministry of Russia released to the civil circulation the first batch of Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus, as RBK reported.

“The first batch of the vaccine for prevention of the new coronavirus infection Gam-COVID-Vac (Sputnik V), developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Health Ministry of Russia, passed all necessary trials on quality in the laboratories of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare and released to the civil circulation,” the ministry informed.

According to the Health Ministry, the regions of the country should receive the first batches of the vaccine soon.

According to the head of the department of Gamaleya Institute, Professor Aleksander Butenko, the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus infection will have two categories: for adults and for children.

On August 11, President of Russia Vladimir Putin reported that the first vaccine against coronavirus was registered in Russia.

The vaccine would be produced by N. F. Gamaleya Federal Research Center for Epidemiology & Microbiology and the Russian Binnopharm Company. According to Murashko, finalizing takes place of the technical regulations for scaling of production at the number of Russian productions.

However, the WHO doubted the safety of the Russian vaccine against Covid-19.

Later, China reported registering its first vaccine against coronavirus. It is stated that the application for the patent was filed in March but it was approved only now. The patent is issued by the National Intellectual Property Administration.
