President of Russia Vladimir Putin reported that the first vaccine against coronavirus was registered in Russia, as Interfax reported.
“I know that it works reasonably well, forms stable immunity; I repeat: it passed all necessary checks,” Putin said.
Besides, Health Minister of Russia Mikhail Murashko stated that the trials of the vaccine showed high efficiency and safety of the medication.
“All volunteers obtained high levels of autoantibodies to Covid-19. Meanwhile, nobody had serious difficulties in immunization,” he said.
It is noted that the vaccine will be produced by N. F. Gamaleya Federal Research Center for Epidemiology & Microbiology and Russian Binnopharm Company. According to Murashko, finalizing takes place of the technical regulations for scaling of production at the number of Russian productions.
As of the end of July, 139 vaccines were at the stage of preclinical trials, while 25 are tested clinically and six of them maximally approached to the practical application and stay on the third stage of trials.
As we reported, the European Commission reached a preliminary agreement with the Sanofi-GSK pharmaceutical company to purchase a potential Covid-19 vaccine.
