Russia officially confirms detention of two Ukrainian border guards

The Russian side asks to provide the documents of the detained

Russia officially confirmed the detention of two officers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine that earlier disappeared near the border with Russia. First Deputy of State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Vasyl Servatyuk claimed this as Interfax-Ukraine reported.

‘Russian side informed that it detained two Ukrainian citizens who claimed that they are the officers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine’, he said.

He explained that the Russian side asks to provide the documents of the detained.

Servatyuk reminded that the Border Service had no information on the location of its officers. According to him, the confirmation from the Russian side was received when the Ukrainian service appealed to the Border Guard Service of Russia.

‘I do not know what the court decision is going to be. I hope that it will be immediately considered tomorrow and it will allow making a transfer. If it is not so then we will wait for this procedure and when it will end’, Servatyuk said.

Two officers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine disappeared on October 3 in Sumy region near the border with Russia. The local prosecutor’s office opened the criminal investigation.
