Russia releases disinformation about coronavirus, - EU

The Russian media launched a ‘significant disinformation campaign’ against the West in order to increase the impact of coronavirus, cause panic and sow distrust. European Union document dated March 16 stated that, as the Reuters news agency reports.

"The main goal of the Kremlin misinformation is to aggravate the public health crisis in Western countries. In line with the Kremlin’s broader strategy of trying to undermine European societies," - the document prepared by the European External Relations Service stated.

According to Worldometer, the leading statistics of real-time coronavirus infections, the number of people infected in the world is 202,241.

As we reported before, the official parliamentary newspaper Holos Ukrayiny has published the law, aiming for the prevention of coronavirus spread.

The law provides the administrative responsibility for the violation of the quarantine rule in the form of the fines in the sum from 17,000 up to 34,000 hryvnias ($637-1,274) and for officials in the sum of 34-170,000 hryvnias ($1,274-6,373).
