Russia has confirmed its intention to send Yulia Samoylova to Eurovision in Portugal after the last year’s failure to send her to the contest in Kyiv. This was reported on the website of the Eurovision.
“Channel One Russia has confirmed that Yulia Samoylova will represent Russia in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. Yulia has already started her preparations for Lisbon, her song will be released in the coming weeks,” the contest’s organizers reported.
As it was reported earlier Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) prohibited for three years the entry to the country for Russian artist Yuliya Samoylova, chosen for Eurovision song contest last year. Thus, the singer could not participate in the contest.
"Security Service of Ukraine banned Russian citizen Yuliya Samoylova from entering Ukrainian territory for three years. The decision was taken based on received data regarding her violations of Ukrainian law," SBU speaker said.
