President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the roads in Ukraine are better than in New York. He stated this at a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian organizations and churches in the United States, which took place at the Ukrainian Institute of America, as the Dom TV channel reports.
The President noted that today Ukraine is actively developing in all directions. The country is implementing major infrastructure projects, including road construction.
"I drove around New York. I want to say that our roads are already better. Indeed, we are building them now. And here it would be desirable (maybe it is not so correctly said) that we "licked" our state that it became "showcase". Because our historical castles, places, streets, paving stones, roads, bridges are very important," Zelensky said.
As we reported earlier, in Zhytomyr region, on September 15, police investigators announced the suspicion of misappropriation of budget funds by the director of a contractor repairing roads in several villages.
Law enforcement officers established that in 2018, grading and repairs of street roads were carried out in the villages of Kharytonivka, Mamryna, Rudnya and Smolivka. Their results were formalized by relevant acts and certificates. However, the construction and technical examinations appointed by the investigators and conducted by the experts showed a significant overestimation of the volume of work actually performed and the cost of them.
