A shocking accident occurred during the filming of a Western movie called Rust. A member of the filming crew lost her life while her colleague sustained a grave injury due to the gun mishandling accident. Deadline reported that citing the office of the sheriff of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The cast included renowned movie star Alec Baldwin. According to the outlet, it was him who cocked the rifle during the rehearsal. Baldwin had no idea the gun was loaded. The shot killed Halyna Hutchins, the 42-year-old camerawoman. The lady was brought to the hospital but she succumbed to the fatal wound.

Joel Souza, the film director is now at a hospital, too. His condition is critical.

Baldwin himself has not been available for comments but witnesses saw he was in a state of shock while staying at the sheriff's office in Santa Fe. The police interrogated the actor but did not arrest him. No homicide charges were pressed against Baldwin.

Halyna Hutchins came from Kyiv. She was born in the family of a military man who served beyond the Arctic circle. Having graduated from a college in Kyiv as a director of photography, Halyna moved to the UK where she worked on documentaries. Later, she moved to the U.S. and lived in California.
