As of August 6, 43,000 citizens of the Donetsk region are still cut off the public water supply. The drinking and technical water is supplied by rescuers, as the State Emergency Service reported.
43,00 citizens of Toretsk, Zalizne, Pivnichne, Pivdenne, Shcherbynivka of Donetsk region are left without water supply as a result of the damage of Horlivka-Toretsk water pipeline.
“To support normal living conditions of the population and provide the continuous functioning of the social objects of infrastructure, from August 3, the rescuers of Donetsk region along with the utility companies, the supply of drinking and technical water takes place,” the rescuers reported.
They added that during August 5, the rescuers supplied 4.36 cubic meters of technical water and 34.5 cubic meters of drinking water. Totally, the rescuers supplied 16.11 cubic meters of technical water and 59 cubic meters of drinking water
The maintenance works began on the Siversky Donets-Donbas, the vital water supply pipeline. A local news agency reported that. Earlier, Russian mercenaries damaged the pipeline, in particular, the sections, where the diameter of the pipeline made 2,300 and 2,100 mm. The attack on this object led to severe cuts in water supply volumes in the occupied part of the Donetsk region.
