Reporters of UkrLive TV channel turned to G7 ambassadors with an open letter, telling them about a large-scale campaign for vaccination against Covid-19, which the broadcaster has been performing lately.
In particular, the letter was sent to the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires, Mrs Kristina Kvien, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine, Mr. Kurai Takashi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine, Ms. Anke Feldgusen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain to Ukraine, Ms. Melinda Simmons, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Ukraine, Mr. Etienne de Poncins, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy in Ukraine to Mr. Pier Francesco Zazo.
The medium workers claim that the vaccination is crucial because it saves lives, and use their own example to show how necessary it is.
The reporters marked that UkrLive is currently the only Ukrainian TV channel that organized vaccination not only for its employees, but also their families. Besides, there is a rule, which stipulates that all TV channel workers and all guests who appear on TV shows produced by this channel must hold a vaccination certificate. There is no way that anti-vaccination promoters are allowed to speak on the air of the medium.
Given these circumstances, employees of UkrLive TV asked the G7 ambassadors to consider the matter of G7 diplomats from respective countries joining the live broadcasts so as to shate their expericence of combating Covid-19 in these countries.
The text of the letter is shown below:
The Ukrainian TV Channel UkrLive takes this opportunity to express its respect and kindly inform you about its recent activities that may be of interest to foreign diplomatic representatives in Ukraine, in view of our shared understanding of the importance of the population's vaccination against Covid-19.
Today, UkrLive remains the only Ukrainian TV channel to conduct a large-scale information campaign to promote vaccination. As part of this program, the channel organized centralized vaccination not only for its employees, but also for members of their families.
Journalists of the channel took part in the recording of a series of social videos under the title «UkrLive stands for vaccination», which appeal to viewers to immunize against Covid-19 and promote vaccination among their relatives.
As part of the channel’s talk shows and other TV programs, guests share their own experience with vaccination, and we believe that these stories increase the chances that their relatives would also decide to get vaccinated.
Also, the editorial board of the channel made a decision to suspend the live participation of guests who do not have a certificate of vaccination, but also to suspend the participation of speakers who publicly speak against the necessity of vaccination. In our opinion, health of an individual is the highest value of our society, which is why such restrictions are fully acceptable and would help to save people's lives.
Taking these into account, we invite the representatives of your diplomatic mission to participate in our TV programs, since the experience of any country in the fight against the spread of Covid-19 may be an invaluable contribution to curbing the spread of the pandemic throughout the world.
