The Minister of Sports & Youth of Ukraine Ihor Zhdanov claims that the repair works at the Olimpiysky National Complex in Kyiv are all finished, and the arena is prepared to stage the UEFA Champions League final between England’s Liverpool and Spain’s Real Madrid on 26 May, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“The works are 100% finished”, - I. Zhdanov said during the presentation of a report on the works.
The minister pointed out that in the course of the works, all supply sytems at the stadium were tested, scheduled maintenance was performed on the roof, lighting devices and power networks were repaired.
Apart from that, the number of video surveillance cameras has been raised from 300 to 500. According to the minister, some $4 million were spent on the finished works. I. Zhdanov added that a Champions League commission will stress tess of all of the systems on 18 May.
As reported earlier, law enforcement officers have conducted security exercise at the stadium prior to the Champions League final match.
Some 3.8 thousand law enforcement officers will be managing security during the game.
