Ukrainian military servicemen and volunteers sent 8,000 leaflets in direction of the occupied Donetsk, using helium-filled balloons. Donbas.Realii reported that on May 25.
"Members of Tretya Syla NGO and Ukrainian military sent 8,000 leaflets to Donetsk by air. The event is timed to the Vyshyvanka Day", reads the message.
The leaflets were sent from the area not far from Donetsk airport. They contained the following inscriptions: "Donbas in Ukraine", "Ukraine in our hearts", "Remember who you are".
Water in Donbas will soon become dangerous for health, Obozrevatel reports.
It is noted that the abandoned and not conserved mines of Donbas are filled with toxic underground waters. The mines used to store hazardous waste pose a particular threat to the environment. Alexandr-Zapad in Horlivka, Young Communards in Bunhe were flooded by more than 60%. In total, 39 mines were flooded. Most of them are not conserved.
The liquid filled with heavy metals and other toxic substances threatens to pollute not only drinking water from rivers and wells but also the soil, making it unsuitable for agriculture. In addition, methane, a dangerous gas from the mines, is pushed to the surface, which can result in earthquakes and explosions. Experts say that Donbas is on the brink of an environmental disaster.
