Heavy precipitations are expected in Ukraine's western regions of Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi. Weather forecast specialists announced red alert because of the upcoming heavy rains in these areas, Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported.
Serhy Osachuk, the head of Chernivtsi regional state administration warned the citizens that the water level in Prut river is about to increase up to six meters high. In other mountain rivers in Ivano-Frankivsk region, the water levels increased up to two meters.
10 kilometers of dams and 11 car bridges are destroyed completely, another 30 bridges are partially destroyed. At least one local resident deceased.
People get food and water supplies by helicopters.
Earlier, the citizens of village Yablunytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk region stated that due to the bad weather conditions, a vehicle fell in Bilyi Cheremosh River. The law enforcers and rescuers were sent to the site. The investigators preliminary established that the river eroded the road in the night due to the heavy rain and increasing of the water level.
