Real wages in Ukraine 18.9% up in Dec 2017 – statistics

Real wages in Ukraine in December 2017 increased by 18.9% compared to December 2016, while compared to November 2017 by 16.2%, the State Statistics Service has said, reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

According to its data, the average nominal salary of full time workers in December compared with November 2017 increased by 17.4%, in annual terms by 35.5%, amounting to 307 dollars, whereas in November it stood at 262 dollars, in October at 258 dollars, in September at 257 dollars, and in August at 249 dollars.

According to statistics, the largest growth in the average salary of full time workers in December this year compared to December 2016 was observed in Zakarpattia (45.2%), Zhytomyr (44.2%), Vinnytsia (47.8%), Chernivtsi (43.6%), Cherkasy (42.8%), Khmelnytsky (42.2%), Ternopil (42.8%), Volyn (40.7%), Sumy (43.5%), Kherson (37%), Ivano-Frankivsk (38.9%), Dnipropetrovsk (39.5%), Lviv (40.1%), Kirovohrad (38%), Chernihiv (38.5%), Poltava (38.2%), Mykolaiv (36.9%), Kyiv (36.1%), Zaporizhia (35.6%), Odesa regions (26.9%) and the city of Kyiv (26.5%).

The wage growth in Donetsk and Luhansk regions (excluding part of the ATO zone) was 39% and 24.5% respectively.

The largest level of wages in the past month was recorded in Kyiv (491,5 dollars), the lowest one in Chernihiv region (233 dollars).
