A fire broke out at a chemical plant in Xinjiang, northwest China. The Chinese newspaper Jimu News reported this.

A fire broke out in a packaging workshop of siloxane production in the factory of Xinjiang West Hesheng Silicon Industry Co., Ltd.

The factory is about 15 kilometers south of Shihezi City. Residents living in Shihezi urban area saw heavy smoke.

5 firefighters were dispatched locally. The fire has been fully controlled, there were no casualties, according to local authorities.

According to preliminary information, the reactor exploded at the enterprise.

According to on-site inspections, the pollutants are mainly particulates and no toxic and harmful gases. Environmental protection departments are continuing to monitor air quality to ensure that no secondary disasters occur.

As it was reported, on June 8, there was an accident on a gas pipeline in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, near the village of Klyuziv. No one was injured in the incident.
