Security forces continue to clear the area from protesters in Almaty. At the same time, there is information that the protesters are storming the Koktobe TV tower, local media report.

According to NUR.KZ, shots are heard from the Republic Square in Almaty. However, now the city is very foggy, so it is difficult to see what is really happening in the square.

At the same time, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports that groups of people are fleeing from the Republic Square, some of them are injured.

In addition, ATMs do not work in the city, except for Khalik Bank. People stand in huge queues to withdraw cash.

Huge queues formed at gas stations. As there is no fuel in the city, the gas stations were suspended except for one - on the outskirts of the city. But even there, gasoline is released in limited quantities.

In addition, as KazTAG reports, there is information that the protesters stormed the city Koktobe TV tower. And Kazakhtelecom disabled the internet again.

In the beginning of 2022 protests erupted in Kazakhstan after the increase in the price of liquefied gas. Demonstrators announced an indefinite action. Demands to reduce the price of gas have grown into calls for the resignation of the president and government. The Internet has been shut down in the country, law enforcement agencies seized military equipment, make arrests.

After a couple days of antigovernment protests the Cabinet of Kazakhstan has filed a resignation letter, and President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev accepted it.

Later, a state of emergency was declared in Kazakhstan by the new Cabinet. At the same time, Tokayev called for military assistance from the CSTO member states.
