The case of desecration of Rabbi Nachman’s grave in central Ukraine is now under the direct control of Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko. His press secretary Larysa Sargan reported this on Friday, December 21.
‘Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko charged the prosecutor of Cherkasy region to tighten control over the investigation into the crime. The Prosecutor General claimed that manifestations of anti-Semitism and religious intolerance are unacceptable,’ she said.
As 112 International reported, a group of anti-Semitic activists attacked Jewish worshippers who came to the grave of their spiritual leader Rabbi Nachman in Uman, Ukraine. The police initiated the investigation, and the Israeli Embassy expressed hope that those behind the crime will be identified, found and punished.
