Ukrainian Center of Embroidery and Carpet Weaving, which is located in Reshetylivka, Poltava region, embroidered a shirt in the Ukrainian national style personally by order of Queen Elizabeth II. This was announced by the Ukrainian artist and teacher Yevhen Pilyuhin.
"Recently, in Reshetylivka a shirt for the Queen of Great Britain was sewed. She personally or her environment wanted her to have just such a shirt. The embroiderers decorated it with a special ornament," Pilyuhin said.
As we reported earlier, on Vyshyvanka Day, the Office of the President of Ukraine presented the embroidered shirts to the world leaders, including non-existent president of Canada.
The symbolical presents were provided to ‘the president of the United States of America, Germany, France, Canada, Poland, Turkey, the Baltic states and other countries’ on behalf of Volodymyr Zelensky.
Canada does not have a president; it is a constitutional monarchy and the head of the state is Queen Elizabeth II; however, the authority of the queen is more formal and the main governmental functions are held by the prime minister. Currently, the PM of Canada is Justin Trudeau.
