The authorities of Chinese capital city Beijing have increased security measures trying to contain the new outbreak of coronavirus infection. Radio Liberty reported this on June 17.

29 of over 270 districts subordinated to the city are now shut off. All entrances and exits are monitored and guarded around-the-clock. Schools have switched to online working mode. Enterprises are working, but the government urges staff to implement flexible work schedules and work at home.

All entrances from Beijing are banned unless citizens prove there's an urgent need to leave the city. Besides, they must provide a negative test result. Those who enter the city are obliged to pass the test for Covid-19, too.

The new outbreak's origins are tied with Beijing's market Xin Fa Di, which has been closed since last weekend.

Prior to this, cases of Covid-19 were only spotted among the people who came from abroad.
