Residents of Doha, the capital of Qatar, are stocking up on food and clothes after a number of countries severed diplomatic relations with this country. This was reported by CNN Money referring to the publications in social networks.

The agency notes that people are worrying about economic blockade, which may lead to food shortage in the country. Fears appeared on the background of news about the closure of the border with Saudi Arabia, though which many food industry products are supplied.

At the same time, Iranian authorities claimed that they are ready to supply Qatar with foodstuffs.

As it is known, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates broke off relations with Qatar on June 5. Later on Libya, Maldives and Yemen joined the decision. Arab nations are accusing the tiny gas-rich state of supporting terrorism and destabilizing the region. Qatar, in turn, called the rupture of diplomatic relations unjustified.
