Over the past 24 hours, Kyiv’s municipal utilities services cleared 12.4 thousand tons of snow; the works have been running for four days straight, as snowfalls began on Monday, ceased on Wednesday morning but resumed on Thursday.
According to the city council’s press service, the Wednesday night’s works involved dozens of crews and hundreds of snow clearing vehicles.
The weather in Kyiv drastically worsened on December 18, when the city took 30 percent from the monthly precipitations of snow. Large-size vehicles were banned from entering the city.
