Resuming the public transport movement in Ukraine depends on the rate of morbidity and fatalities caused by coronavirus. Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy said so to Obozrevatel news agency. According to him, if the rate of morbidity decreases, the restrictions for public trasnport movement will be gradually lifted, too; that includes underground.
"It is too soon to talk about certain terms. It's definitely no sooner than in May. I would forecast June or July", the Minister said.
Krykliy admitted that the launch of public transport in Ukraine also depends on every Ukrainian. "[It depends on] how adequate we perceive the restrictions, including self-isolation, the way we wear masks, the way we don't go for any barbecue parties with our family", the official said.
The public transport movement in Ukraine was suspended on March 23. Only passengers with special IDs can use public transport in Kyiv and some other cities.
