Today, July 30, Kyiv hosted the talks between Ukraine and Iran, as the sides try to define the size of compensation for Ukraine's civilian aircraft, downed by Iranian anri-aircraft weapon in January 2020. According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, the Ukrainian side will see to it that the the maximum amount of compensation is obtained.
"We have worked a lot for the negotiation process to commence, and I welcome thae fact that the case got off the ground", he said.
Kuleba claimed that the process will not be easy, but the Ukrainian government works hard for the justice to prevail.
"Ukrainian Foreign Ministry for the maximum amount of compensation. This might at least somewhat ease the pain and grief of the families [of victims], which they live in for over six months. We will achieve justice, no matter how much time and effort it takes", the Minister said.
On January 8, Boeing 737 of Ukraine's International Airlines, flight PS752 with 176 passengers aboard crashed in Tehran, not far from Imam Khomeini airport. 11 citizens of Ukraine died in the crash.
