Under the Ministry of Health building protesters from trade unions oppose the medical reform, as a 112.UA reporter informs.
“A big protest has accumulated under Ukraine’s Ministry of Health building in Maryinskyi Park. Now some people went into the ministry’s yard, trying to talk to Ulana Suprun (Minister of Health). Most people are in the park. The people who gathered here today are trade union representatives, most of them health workers, but there are also pilots, mine workers, teachers,” the reporter says.
The protesters will go to the Verkhovna Rada building as well, Trade Union Confederation Head Myhailo Volynets said.
“We all are patients of our medicine, which crumbles to pieces before our eyes. We are expecting 2,000 people of different professions under the Rada today,” he added.
Ukrainian MPs adopted the medical reform law on June 11, but failed to adopt the law financing the reform. The law implies free emergency medical assistance. As to other types of medical care, the law suggests the price to be divided between the state and the patient.
