A protest against Jewish nation law was held in Tel Aviv on Saturday, August 11. A couple thousand people participated in the protest. Demonstrators were shouting out ‘Equality’ and ‘Nation-state is apartheid’ in Arab and Hebrew languages, DW.com reports.

As mass media reports, earlier, a number of resigned high-level politicians and members of the security forces highly criticized the law. According to the outlet, five claims against the controversial law are being viewed.

Reportedly, Knesset adopted a law, which provides that historical motherland of the Jewish people is Israel, and only the Jewish population has a right for the national self-determination. Moreover, the law gives the Hebrew the official state status. Arabian received special status, which allows using the language in the state institutions.
