Shegyni, Yagodyn and Rava-Ruska checkpoints in Lviv region, western Ukraine are blocked; protesters stand on the crosswalks, preventing cars from crossing the state border.

The local patrol police report that activists promised to pass ten vehicles every half an hour to avoid conflicts with those crossing the border.

The activists protest against the amendments to the Tax Code. They limit the duty-free importation of goods to Ukraine; normally, a person can import the goods worth up to 150 Euros in total (in airports – up to 1,000 Euros). However, in case an individual crosses the border more frequently than once per 72 hours, he/she is allowed to import goods totally worth up to 50 Euros maximum.
