The Prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea referred to a court an indictment against a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the AR of Crimea for treason. Reads the message of the Prosecutor’s office.
‘The investigation established that the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea helped and facilitated the occupation of Crimea in March and April 2014,’ reads the message.
As a result of his direct participation in the adoption of so-called “Constitution of Crimea Republic” and the number of decrees of the Verkhovna Rada of the AR of Crimea, “Republic of Crimea” an illegitimate state formation was created.
The accused to face an imprisonment ranging from 12 to 15 years.
The Prosecutor’s office recalled that this is the 101st indictment against the officials of the AR of Crimea accused of treason passed to the court. The court rendered a guilty verdict by appointing a real measure of punishment in the form of imprisonment in one of these proceedings. On November 19, 2018, Dnipro Regional Court of Kyiv sentenced former deputy of the VR of Crimea Vasyl Hanysh for 12 years of imprisonment.
