The prosecutor's office pleads with the Dniprovsky district court of Kyiv to arrest former serviceman Oleksii Belko, who threatened to blow up the Metro bridge in Kyiv, according to the press service of the court. "The Dniprovsky district court of Kyiv informs that on September 20, 2019, a supplication for the court to apply a preventive measure in the form of detention, concerning Belko, was received", the report says.
The ex-military is suspected of Part 2 of Art. 259 (Knowingly false report of the preparation of an explosion), Part 4 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The prosecutor's office supplication processing is scheduled for 14:00 Friday, September 20.
On the evening of September 18, a man came to the bridge, stopped in the middle of it, went out and threatened to demolish it. The patrol police, K-9 crews, snipers and pyrotechnical crews rushed to the site. The traffic from the Dnipro station to the Lisova station was stopped due to his report of the preparation of an explosion.
A man who "mined" the bridge is a 42-year-old native of Crimea, Oleksii Belko. In June, he voluntarily handed over a kilo of explosives and 88 ammo to Desnyansky district police precinct in Kyiv. According to him, he “found them in the safe in the village in Chernihiv region”.
