Yet, the Prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea jointly with the Department of Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine identified and terminated the illegal water intake and water transfer in occupied Crimea.
The wells, where the water intake was carried out, are in 15 meters from the boundary line, reads the message.
According to preliminary information, the vailed plastic tube was laid before 2014 and led to an industrial enterprise located right behind the boundary line.
‘Law enforcement officers held searches at the location of two wells in Kalanchak Raion, Kherson region, during the pre-trial investigation of the criminal proceeding against the major producer of titanium dioxide “Crimean Tytan.” According to the technical documentation, the wells were solely designed for extraction of groundwater and its supply to the specified enterprise,’ the Prosecutor’s office noted.
Based on the results of the conducted searches, it was found that a hidden pipeline goes from one of the wells through the boundary line with annexed Crimea in the direction of “Crimean Tytan.”
Hidden and unaccounted water supply was implemented via these tubes. It is established that rate flow of the tube from one of the wells is 250 cubic meters of water per hour.
