The terrorist who hijacked a bus with 13 hostages in Lutsk yesterday has been officially informed of the suspicion. The press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General reported that.
"According to the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office of the Volyn region, the investigators of the SBU department in the region informed the citizen about the suspicion of committing a terrorist act, taking and keeping persons as hostages with the threat of destruction of people, encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer, as well as illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives," the message says.
According to the investigation, a man seized a commuter bus with passengers in Lutsk and held them during the day, putting forward demands to the President of Ukraine and other high-ranking officials.
During the negotiations, he threw a grenade towards the law enforcement officers, encroaching on their lives. After his arrest, a whole arsenal of weapons and explosives was confiscated from him: an AKS-74U machine gun, a revolver, and hand grenades RGD-5.
The question of the choice of a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention is being resolved. The pre-trial investigation continues.
As we reported before, tomorrow, on July 23, the Lutsk court will choose a measure of restraint for the criminal who hijacked the bus and took the passengers hostage.
