On the anniversary of the tragedy near Volnovakha, when twelve civilians who were in a bus on the checkpoint died in a militant attack, pro-Ukrainian leaflets were hung all over the occupied Dokuchaevsk, journalist Andriy Tsaplienko wrote on Facebook.
The leaflets read “Volnovakha, forgive us for murders!”. The journalist had time to take three photos but says there were many more of them. The militants were hurriedly taking them down. It’s unknown who hung the leaflets in the first place.
On Jan. 13, 2015, the militants conducted an artillery attack on the checkpoint of the Ukrainian Army and it hit a bus with civilians. Twelve people died in the attack.
