"Harry, Megan, and Archie (the son of the spouses - ed.) will always be much loved members of my family," the statement reads.
According to the BBC, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also announced that they will return the money for the repair of Frogmore Cottage (2.4 million pounds), which will remain their home in the UK.
The couple will also no longer officially represent the Queen.
Earlier Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle said in a surprise statement on January 8 that they intended to step back as senior members of Britain’s royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced this on Instagram page.
“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year is starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment,” the message says.
