The Office of the President of Ukraine replied to the Mejlis regarding the return of Ukrainians from a refugee camp in Syria, stating that Ukrainians are being checked for contacts with the Islamic State. The press service of the President's Office stated.
“It is obvious that the question of the return of people from this particular conflict zone cannot be reduced to simple media emotional images of women and children. Each of the adults who were in this region in the territories controlled in one way or another by ISIS has a certain personal history, which you need to thoroughly study," the message said.
The President's Office added that diplomats, special services and intelligence are working on the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from the Syrian refugee camp "Al-Hall". In addition, Ukraine's special services are monitoring the situation and looking for possible evacuation routes.
The President's Office notes that they must also remember about the safety of all citizens of Ukraine, both at home and abroad.
"Moreover, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainian refugees in Syria come from the temporarily occupied Crimea, where their close relatives live. Public disclosure of information about the presence of our citizens in Syria can definitely lead to harassment and detention by the special bodies of the Russian Federation of their loved ones and persons. with whom they contacted in Crimea,” the Office reports.
As we reported before, residents of the annexed Crimea do not lack water, but the occupants do not have enough water resources to expand their activities.
