The president's office commented on the situation around 112 Ukraine TV channel in Telegram.
"The Office of the President of Ukraine monitors the situation around 112 Ukraine TV channel. We are convinced that freedom of speech is an integral part of a democratic state. At the same time, all broadcasters must keep within the law and license conditions", - the statement says.
The Office of the President also expressed the hope that after the renewal of the composition of the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine the situation on the television market will be settled.
As we reported earlier, today the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting has deprived 112 Ukraine TV channel of digital licenses for broadcasting.
The 112 Editorial Board of the International TV Council regarded the National Council's decisions as biased and politically motivated actions by the regulator, which resulted in a further attack on journalists' rights and restrictions on freedom of speech in Ukraine.
The channel continues to broadcast and is available to its viewers on satellite, cable and the Internet.
