“Without the support of the United States and other NATO allies, we would not be able to effectively contain the Russian threat. Our geographic and geopolitical position requires us to use our resources as efficiently as possible. It is important that NATO forces in Lithuania are as prepared as possible, constantly trained, and participate in exercises with the armed forces of Lithuania received quick reinforcements if necessary," - the president said.

He is convinced that for effective deterrence, the potential aggressor should receive a clear signal about the readiness of the Baltic countries to respond and provide countermeasures in case of violation of their security and sovereignty.

As we reported before, on February 15, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko met with German counterpart Heiko Maas.
