The girlfriend of the Belarusian oppositionist Roman Pratasevich, arrested in Minsk, the Russian Sofia Sapega can be pardoned or extradited to the homeland. Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei stated this in an interview with Kommersant.

"Decisions of the head of state can be made on pardon and extradition to Russia to serve here sentence," Makei said.

He did not predict how the situation would develop further. According to the Minister, the decision in this case should be made by a court, which is likely to take place in Belarus.

As it was reported earlier, the European Humanities University in Lithuania is demanding the release of Sofia Sapega, a student, citizen of Russia, who was detained in Minsk together with Belarusian opposition journalist Roman Pratasevich.
