As of morning July 13, 130 settlements in Ukraine were left without electricity as a result of the complication of weather conditions. Ukrainian State Emergencies Ministry reported this.
"As a result of the complication of weather conditions (gusts of wind, heavy rain, thunderstorms) due to the operation of automatic protection systems for power transmission lines, 130 settlements are de-energized," the message reads.
The settlements in eight regions were left without electricity. Now brigades of local utility services are involved in the restoration of the power supply.
As reported before, two-thirds of thermal power plants (TPP) and nuclear power plants (NPP) have been disconnected from the energy system in Ukraine, on July 9. Only 26 out of 78 power units of thermal power plants are in operation.
Ukraine refused to buy electricity from the Belarusian nuclear power plant. According to Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonite, Europe hopes that Ukraine will abandon dangerous suppliers and move towards a European renewable energy trend.
