A one-year-old girl suddenly died in the Kiliysky district of Odesa region, southern Ukraine. The cause of death is still unknown, but her older brother was hospitalized with a suspicion of meningococcal infection, as Besarabia-Inform reported reports referring to Larysa Stepanenko, head physician of the Kiliysky Center for Health Care.
According to the report, the tragedy happened with a large family from the Trudove village.
The father brought his three-year-old son, who had a high fever, headache and was vomiting, to the hospital in the evening of January, 26. Three other children, including a one-year-old daughter, according to him, looked healthy and stayed at home.
However, a few hours later the girl died. According to her mother, the little girl spiked a fewer and began to suffocate.
The measurements to detect infectious diseases are being undertaken now in Trudove, doctors examine the locals at their homes. The rest of the family members were examined, but signs of illnesses have not been found.
The exact cause of the girl's death would be known after the examination.
