President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has ordered to prepare a "road map" to restore the TV broadcasting on the occupied Ukrainian territories in the Donbas region. He stated this at the opening of the restored Karatchoun TV tower on the hill in the Donetsk region.
"I put a task to prepare a road map for the restoration of the TV coverage until next week, so that the residents of Donetsk, Makeyevka Yenakiyevo, Shakhterske had the opportunity to watch Ukrainian TV channels. We must approve the schedule, and begin the work on the installation of Ukrainian transmitters for broadcast in the near future", Poroshenko said.
Answering the question when the residents of Donetsk will be able to watch Ukrainian channels, the President said:
"We have already found two alternatives from which to broadcast, and approved the budget, which will be sent to the building of the tower. I think this is the first priority. This is a key element of victory in a hybrid war, which Russia unleashed against us as an aggressor state. It is very important to restore TV broadcasting of Ukrainian channels on the occupied territories in the Donbas region", he stressed.
