President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko ordered Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko to take the investigation of the events that took place near the building of Inter TV channel, according to the presidential Twitter account.
"I have ordered the Attorney General to take the investigation under his personal control, because there are still a lot of questions remained," - said Poroshenko.
The President also ordered Arsen Avakov, the Minister of Internal Affairs, to make every effort to ensure law and order on the streets of Kyiv and in Ukraine in general to keep the situation under the control.
"It is unacceptable that someone broke into the building and set fire. I'm sure that this has nothing to do with the patriots. Today is no less, and even more damaging Ukraine than any contacts with provocateurs," - said Poroshenko.
At the moment, the protesters are installing the tents near the building of the TV channel on Dmytrivska street. Law enforcers do not interfere in the process. Now four tents are already installed.
As it was reported, protesters set tires afire near the building of Inter TV channel on Schuseva Str., 33 in Kyiv yesterday, on September 4. 7 injured were reported.
Criminal proceedings are initiated in hooliganism and deliberate damage to property of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Several people were detained. All nine were set free later.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov later reported that former officers of Ukrainian army were among the protesters.
The Counselor of the Interior Minister Zoryan Shkiryak announced that the investigators of the National Police in Kyiv collected the information from surveillance cameras near the building of Inter TV channel and said that the information is being processed.
