The construction of the Memorial at the Alley of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes in Kyiv will be the just cause for the entire Ukrainian nation. The head of the state posted that at Facebook.
‘There will be the Memorial! Previously, I ordered to solve the issue with the land parcel for it. Today, the city hall made the respective decision,’ he wrote. ‘The construction of this memorial complex will become a truly nation-wide weal – exactly like Maidan, which gathered people of different views, social strata, beliefs in their joint struggle for the better future’.
In December 2016, a car ruined the memorial to Heavenly Hundred Heroes in Kyiv.
The Heavenly Hundred is a collective name for the Euromaidan activists who were killed during the Revolution of Dignity in Kyiv in February 2014. More than a hundred of unarmed people (and several policemen as well) were either shot dead, bludgeoned or otherwise murdered during violent street clashes between the protesters and the riot police in the Ukrainian capital.
