Soldiers, who serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine on an urgent basis, won’t be sent to the Joint Forces Operation zone. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko claimed this during the ceremonial send-off of draftees in Mariupol, Donetsk Region, reports 112 Ukraine.
‘Yet a couple of years ago I adopted a decision, I emphasize once more in front of your parents, this decision is being implemented – the conscripts are not sent to the front line. Once more, want to assure you, dear conscripts. Your objective is to learn to protect your country, not to build cottages to officers, or do something different. To learn to protect the country is the key feature of our new army,’ the President stressed.
He has also noted that about 500 people from Donetsk region will be serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2018. In 2016-2018, more than 130 thousand people enlisted for a military service to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
