President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and his wife Maryna paid tribute to the victims of Holodomor of 1932-33 in Ukraine, the press office of the Presidential Administration reported.
‘Petro and Maryna Poroshenko laid spikelet compositions to the memorial sign to the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine on Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv and honored the memory of the victims of the Holodomor,’ reads the message.
Yet the Presidential Administration claimed that there would be events near memorial sign ‘Candle of Memory’ of the National Museum 'Memorial to Holodomor victims’. Nationwide action ‘Light the candle’ to be held at 4 p.m.
Earlier, President Petro Poroshenko called Ukrainians to take part in scheduled events dedicated to the Holodomor Remembrance Day.
