Pope Francis on the occasion of his 80th anniversary, invited for breakfast eight homeless people - two women and six men. It is reported by the press service of Vatican.

According to the report, the pontiff invited the homeless, including four Italians, two Romanians, Moldovan and Peruvian, in the Vatican the House of st. Martha, to his private apartments, early this morning.

The Pope personally greeted each of the guests and invited to the table, traditional Argentine sweets were served.

In turn, the guests on the occasion of the Pope's birth presented him three bouquets of  sunflowers.

After lunch with the homeless Francis with the Cardinals took part in a celebratory Mass, held in the Cappella Paolina. After the service the pope asked the cardinals to pray for his "calm, religious, fruitful and joyful" old age.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the Pope Vatican opened seven email accounts, for receiving congratulatory letters in Latin, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, English, French, German and Polish.
