"The president yesterday was tested for the presence of coronavirus. The result turned out to be positive. The president is fine. We are in constant contact with the relevant medical services," Spychalski said on Twitter.
Duda's infection comes as the country faces a surge in the Covid-19 epidemic, with new infections hitting a daily record of more than 13,600 on Friday.
As we reported earlier, the Polish government has decided to impose the highest level of restrictions due to the growth of of Covid-19 incidence.
According to the decree, from Saturday, October 24, Poland imposes the "red" zone all over the country.
Also, due to the tightening of lockdown, educational facilities will be relocated to the remote form of education. Restaurants and bars will be closed, except those, that provide food delivery.
