‘Actuall, it hung for a day but it is already removed. I said to make it impulsive, too fast. The content of the sign should not be like that. I sincerely apologize in front of all people who are insulted. The sign with such content should not exist’, he said.

Jerzy Bitel added that the sign with the similar inscription hung there for 30 years and there were never some complaints. According to Bitel, ‘the sign should not appeal to the Ukrainians, it should be only in the Ukrainian language’.

He also said the Ukrainians are the problem of his shop and whole Barlink and emphasized that they steal more often the Polish citizens.

‘A polish citizen can steal something once in a month. The Ukrainians steal something even four times a week. I had to hire two additional securities’, the owner of the Bimex shop complained.

The center of monitor of racism and xenophobia wrote that ‘it is a scandalous case of discrimination based on the nation’. The organization assured that they will put all efforts that the persons who are responsible for the placing of the sing will carry the criminal sanctions.
